Microchip

Protect Your Feline Friend: Dependable Microchipping Services at Columbia Animal Shelter.

Microchips are not just for dogs!  Cats can, and should be microchipped as well.  Here are some reasons why your cat should be microchipped:

  1. A microchip can help to identify a lost pet, and since it is permanent it cannot be lost, stolen, or removed.
  2. A microchip is a universal means of identifying your pet.  Animal shelters and veterinary hospitals have microchip scanners that can read the chip number, this can then be used to identify the pet and owner information.  This can only be done if your contact information is ALWAYS kept up to date.
