Prioritize Your Pup's Health: Comprehensive Physical Exams at Columbia Animal Shelter.
A routine physical exam is an important part of your pet’s visit with a veterinarian. A “nose to tail” examination allows your veterinarian to detect any abnormalities which may need to be further addressed. While you know your pet the best, and may feel lumps and bumps during petting, a veterinarian can discuss if and how this lump should be evaluated. We can determine if certain lumps and bumps are cancerous or benign in the clinic at your appointment.
During an examination, your veterinarian will also be able to point out all the normal findings as well. Meaning, we can celebrate your pet’s healthy status and discuss ways to maintain their overall well-being.
A visit to the veterinarian is more than just vaccines! The importance of a thorough physical exam at least once yearly is an integral part to your pet’s health care. Puppies, kittens, adults and senior pets all have different needs depending upon lifestage. Your veterinarian can help you determine the best schedule for your pet based on age and health risks.
